This colloquium is an exciting opportunity for faculty in higher education to talk and think about the role of higher education in early care and education workforce preparation with an eye toward the future.
The faculty of the colloquium planning committee have selected three books (shown below) about current issues in education to provide a common context for our discussion. These ideas relate to our work in ECE in challenging and changing times.
Familiarity with these materials will greatly enhance participants’ ability to contribute to and benefit from the colloquium discussions.
Please join our interactive web-based discussion of the books in the months prior to the colloquium. (The online discussion is open to all faculty, including those who cannot attend the colloquium and will be available early January, 2010). We will continue this discussion, with facilitation by Valora Washington, at the colloquium.
Warm regards,
Marianne Jones, Colloquium Chair
